Beckham’s brother-in-law Bullied

DAVID Beckham’s brother-in-law was made to feel a failure in his high-flying City job for not arranging for colleagues to meet his famous family, a tribunal heard yesterday.

Broker Darren Flood, 32, whose grandfather came from India, said he also suffered racist taunts.

He is claiming constructive dismissal, saying he felt forced to resign from his £50,000-a-year job. Mr Flood, married to Victoria Beckham’s sister Louise, said he suffered verbal abuse from boss Tony Herbert at broking firm BGC International in London.

He also alleged that BGC, based in Canary Wharf, carried out “morally unacceptable” trades, and there was a heavy drinking and drug culture in the workplace. Mr Flood, of Goffs Oak, Herts, said he was routinely told to set up meetings with the Beckhams for clients in Milan and Los Angeles — and was made to feel inadequate when he didn’t.

He said: “I was unhappy being asked to bring my personal life into the workplace. I did not want to exploit the relationship with the Beckhams. Whilst I said I would see what I could do, it never happened.”

Mr Flood said his boss was a “bully who had called him a ****.

He also alleges that a more senior manager at BCG confronted him smelling of alcohol and told him to “make sure” that David Beckham attended their offices.
